AFI’s 100 Years 100 Movies

July 7, 2010

My first item and one I expect to take the longest and be rather difficult is to watch the American Film Institute’s picks for the top 100 movies of the past 100 years. I’m using their 2007 list, which appears to me to be the most recent one. Here’s the full list, which I’ll keep updated with what I’ve watched! Some I’ve already seen, which I’ve noted in bold.

The 101 in 1001 List

    What a fantastic goal!!

Be honest though; what do you think of their number 1 choice? I’ve seen Citizen Kane and I still don’t get the appeal. Everyone says it’s this wonderful movie and the cinematography is amazing, blah blah blah; but I just couldn’t love it. When you see it, let me know what you think.

I’ve seen 61 out of the top 100. sorry, but I loved the Godfather I and II, III was terrible.
My favorite movie wasn’t there….The Way we Were….huh…go figure!
I’ve only seen parts of Citizen Kane…It was good but not riveting cinema…but the cinematography was good for that time period.

Wow that’s almost double my count!

I fully expect to love The Godfather the second time around. It was one of those high expectations leads to disappointment situations.

I love The Way We Were too! “Your girl is lovely, Hubbell…”
